House Bill 4224 amends Subchapter C, Chapter 181 of the Health and Safety Code by adding Section 181.105, went into effect on September 1, 2025, to the Texas Health and Safety Code:

(Section 181.105)

House Bill 4224 amends Subchapter C, Chapter 181 of the Health and Safety Code by adding Section 181.105, which requires covered health care entities to prominently post detailed consumer information both on their Internet websites and at their facilities about how a consumer can:

  1. Request the consumer’s healthcare records from the entity.
  2. Contact the disciplinary or licensing authority for the covered entity; and
  3. File a consumer complaint as described under Section 181.103. Texas Legislature Online
